Robert I. Fernandez is President of Fernandez & Company, P.C., a Fort Worth-based CPA firm. Robert grew up in Fort Worth, graduating from Paschal High School, before leaving for college, where he graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.
In addition to maintaining a CPA practice providing accounting and tax services to smaller and medium sized businesses, Robert also has served the community in many capacities. Since the 1980s, he has served on many Boards and commissions, including those with a focus on economic development, the arts and social service.
Robert served on the DFW International Airport Board in the 1990s, chairing the Board in 1996. He has also served on the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, United Way, the Arts Council of Fort Worth and Tarrant County, Van Cliburn Foundation, Fort Worth Police & Firefighter Memorial, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, UNT Health Science Center Foundation, Tarrant County College Foundation, Citizens Crime Commission, Fort Worth Club, Cook Children’s Medical Center, among others.
Currently, in addition to Fairness Fort Worth, Robert serves on the Boards for Fort Worth Zoo, United Community Centers, Partners for Sacred Places, King Foundation and True Worth, a new organization dedicated to building a central resource facility for the homeless. He also serves on the Chesapeake Scholarship Committee and the advisory board for Cancer Care Services.
